Music in Bangladesh

Bengali music has a wide variet of styles.There are a long tradition of religious and secular song writing in bagladesh. There are several types of musics in Bangladesh such as Folk, classical, baul, Nazrul geeti, Rabindra sangeet, Film music, Modern music and western influence, Rock music, Fusion, Instruments etc.
 Film music

 Bangladeshi film industry supported difference type of classical music and also use western orchestration. Bagladeshi film industry named as Dhallywood. It is  placed in capital of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In 1956  first Bangladeshi film name “Mukh o mukhos”was produced by Nuruzzaman , shaidul Alam and directed by abdul zabbar khan.It was written by abdul jabbar khan. It’s music by samar das. It’s release date was 3 august, in 1956. It’s running time was 99 minutes. At that time any body had not any experience about film acting. Abdul jabbar khan worked on the movie for two years. There were two songs in this film and the singers were Abdul alim and Mahbuba hasnat (Rahman) , wife of khan Ataur Rahman. Abdul Alim’s song was deterioted  and  Mahbuba  Rahman sang the other song  “ Moner Boney Dola Laage Hashio Dokhin Hawa.” M.A Gafur  had written all of the songs in this movie and music was by Samar Das. In 1955 a film studio and laboratory was established in Tejgaon.  In 1957 the Bangladesh film industry was established and developed recording, processing and printing. The first film , Asiya ( The life of avillage girl) and it’s director was Fateh Lohani.  The film was about rural life.  The film Asiya  was awarded  the president Award in 1961.
