James Bond “Skyfall” wins the Best British Film Award at BAFTA

The Bond film took home the first award of the evening during the ceremony at London's Royal Opera House. Collecting his award from Bradley Cooper and Ben Affleck, producer and screenwriter Michael G Wilson told the star-studded crowd: 'This is a first for Bond.'

Wilson was joined on the stage by director Sam Mendes who thanked the 1,292 people who worked on the film and praised the 'sheer bloody mindedness' of star Daniel Craig. Skyfall faced formidable competition from box-office hit Les Miserables, which took a staggering £115million in the UK alone and over $1billion worldwide.
