Shahnaz rahmatullah

She was born in a culture-oriented family in 1952 in Dhaka.  Her father name is M fazlul Haque and  mother is Asia  haque. She is a legendary singer in Bangladesh.   In 1964 she won first recognition of the children’s music competition. It was organized by the radio Pakistan. She married to major(rtd) rahmatullah in 1972.   She sang more songs in bangle and urdu.In mid 1960s , she started as a singer. Her patriotic song sohni Allah Rakhne  and jeevay Jeevay Pakistan. She also sang gazal. From  gazal guru Mehedi hasan , she learned gazal.  Her sibilings are music director Anwar parvez and  film hero Zafar Iqbal.

She gained more  awards such as Ekushey padak, Bangladesh shilpokala Academy Award, National film Award,  Bangladesh Chalachitra sangbadik samity Award etc.
